Rawhide and parchment

Our Scottish rawhide is hand made using traditional techniques based on methods practised in our local area since the 16th century.

We produce a variety of rawhides from Scottish red deer, roe deer, goat, sheep and salmon.

Our rawhide and parchment is suitable for drums, manuscripts, sculptures and art projects and can be made to varying thicknesses based on application. Our rawhide and parchment are natural products and each piece will vary in colour and size which makes each piece unique.

Each hide is worked in a slow and respectful way during each step of the process in order to honour the animals life.

As a rough guide 2-3 drums can be made from a red deer rawhide due to their large size (average size 135-150cm long by 95-115cm wide)
